Leslie Borton

Leslie Borton is part of the teaching faculty in the Blindness and Low Vision Education program at Florida State University. She teaches Methods for Learners with Visual Impairment and Additional Disabilities I & II, Teaching Students with High Intensity Needs and Visual Impairments, Teaching Social and Career Skills to Students with Blindness or Low Vision, PK-12 Students with Visual Impairments: Assessment Strategies,  Unified English Braille, Literary Braille, and Student Teaching in Blindness and Low Vision. As a certified teacher of students with visual impairments, Leslie works to develop future professionals to work with students who have blindness or low vision. Prior to joining FSU, Leslie worked at the South Carolina School for the Deaf and the Blind as both an educator in a school for students with vision loss and additional disabilities and an administrator at the SC School for the Blind.
