Jake Bucher is a doctoral student in the Counseling Psychology and School Psychology PhD program at Florida State University, training to be a psychologist. He was born and raised in Florida and has attended Florida State University for both his undergraduate and current graduate studies.
Jake has worked with clients from a wide range of backgrounds and focuses on helping them navigate complex life challenges with clarity and intention. He aims to create a supportive and collaborative space where clients can better understand themselves, build on existing strengths, and move toward meaningful change. He has experience working with adults who present with concerns related to depression, anxiety, relationship stress, ADHD, and learning disorders. He also has clinical interests in vocational psychology and how career metacognitions can affect negative and/or dysfunctional career thoughts.
Jake’s therapeutic approach is client-centered and integrative, meaning he tailors treatment to fit each client’s needs rather than relying on a single framework. However, he primarily draws on cognitive-behavioral therapy and solution-focused techniques to help clients achieve their goals. In addition to therapy, he has a strong interest in psychological assessment, particularly in evaluating ADHD, learning differences, ASD, and other mental health concerns to inform diagnosis and guide treatment planning.
