Educational Leadership and Policy

Dr. Toby Park-Gaghan is the college's Associate Dean for Academic Affairs, Interim Associate Dean for Research, and Anne & John Daves Endowed Professor. He formerly served as Chair of the Department of Educational Leadership and Policy Studies and Interim Director of the School of Teacher Education.  

Dr. Park-Gaghan's primary research investigates student experiences and outcomes in postsecondary education, and explores potential policy initiatives that could improve student success. This work has been supported by over $7M in external funding from the U.S. Department of Education, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, and the Helios Education Foundation, among others. He has recently published articles in Education Policy, Educational Researcher, the American Journal of Education, the Journal of Higher Education, and Research in Higher Education. Dr. Park-Gaghan’s work also been featured in USA Today, Reuters, The National Journal, Inside Higher Education, and the Chronicle of Higher Education.
 
Dr. Park-Gaghan earned his B.S. in mathematics (summa cum laude) and M.Ed. in Higher Education Administration, both from the University of Pittsburgh, and his Ph.D. in Education Policy from Vanderbilt University.
