Émilie Ellis, PhD, LMFT, is Assistant Professor of Marriage and Family Therapy in the Department of Human Development and Family Science.
A graduate of the PhD in Human Development and Family Science in Couple and Family Therapy at the University of Georgia, Dr. Ellis’s research is focused on the intersection of minoritized identity, relationships, and traumatic stress. Dr. Ellis has been a couple and family therapist over a decade, working in a large range of settings, and specializes in clinical work with sexual and gender minorities living with traumatic stress. Dr. Ellis has been supporting the dissemination of evidence-based treatments for traumatic stress since 2020, and their publications on related topics can be found in American Psychologist, Journal of Homosexuality, and Journal of Child and Adolescent Trauma.
