Jacob Cryderman is a fifth-year doctoral candidate in FSU’s Counseling and School Psychology Ph.D. program. He also earned his bachelor’s degree in psychology at FSU in 2019. He is passionate about mental health care in many forms with clinical experiences to match. He has worked in settings from inpatient and state hospitals to the schools. In his work with students in schools, Jacob emphasizes students’ strengths and seeks to foster growth mindsets while directly addressing mental health concerns through the application of evidence-based interventions from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and collaborating with clients and parents on how best to serve the needs of the students he meets with. In his free time, Jacob enjoys weightlifting, playing video and tabletop games, cooking, and painting.
