Dr. Kevin Forehand, Assistant Teaching Professor for the College of Education’s Department of Educational Leadership and Policy Studies, works in the Educatioanal Leadership and Administartion program. Dr. Forehand served as the principal of Crossroad Academy Charter School in Quincy, Florida from 2007 to 2022.  A native of Gadsden County, Forehand was educated in Gadsden County Schools where he was a 1996 graduate of James A. Shanks High School.   Forehand earned a Bachelor of Science Degree from Florida A & M University in Computer & Information Science w/ minors in business and education.   In 2006, he earned a Master’s of Science Degree in Educational Leadership & Administration from Florida State University. In 2019 he completed a Doctor of Education degree in Organizational Leadership, which serves both the education and business communities. In 2021, Forehand accepted a position as an adjunct professor at Florida State University in the Educational Leadership & Administration program.

In his capacities as an educator, Forehand has worked as a teacher, team leader, mentor teacher, project chair, curriculum coordinator, coach, and assistant principal.  His accolades and recognition include the Teacher of the Year Awards consecutively, in 2006 and 2007.  He is the only principal in Gadsden County with a record of 10 High Performing School grades including 7 consecutive A grades and 2 distinguished Title 1 school designations under his leadership.  In 2014, he led his school to prominence as a National Blue Ribbon School, the first and only one in Gadsden County.
