Dr. Kayla Bill is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Educational Leadership and Policy Studies. Her research uses mixed methods to study (i) how political dynamics shape education policy processes and outcomes, and (ii) how we can craft education policies that are responsive to the problems that drive them. Her current work addresses these questions in the areas of school desegregation, teacher shortages and diversity, and state policy implementation. Dr. Bill earned her Ph.D. in Education Policy and Leadership from the University of Maryland. She also holds an M.S. in Kinesiology from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and a B.S. in Health and Exercise Science from Syracuse University.
