Admissions Process
Admission to a certificate program is required; students are not enrolled in a certificate program by virtue of being enrolled in related courses. Students must first apply to and be admitted to both the university and to the certificate program in order to be considered enrolled. Although non-degree seeking students may be admitted to a certificate, it is important to note that registration for these students begins the day before the beginning of the term, and it is on a space-available basis. The certificates listed below do not lead to licensure, and courses may be subject to the excess hour fee identified in Florida BOG Regulation 7.003.
IMPORTANT: In order to be eligible for admission to a graduate certificate program, an applicant must have a bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited U.S. institution, or a comparable degree from an international institution.
Admission to Anne's College certificate programs requires submission of an online Certificate Admissions Application to the appropriate department Certificate Program Coordinator and the Registrar’s Office prior to the completion of two courses in the certificate program (grades posting). Please see the respective certificate website links listed below for the online application and contact information.
Completion Process
For graduate certificate programs completed in Fall 2024 and after, a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0 (“B”) or better with no grade below a ”C-“ across all graduate courses applied toward the certificate must be achieved. All certificate program coursework must be completed within 7 years of first enrolling in the certificate program.
After all certificate coursework is completed, but no later than 2 weeks after grades post, an online Certificate Completion Form must be filled out and submitted to the department Certificate Program Coordinator. Approved completion forms will be forwarded to the Registrar’s Office for processing and posting to the official transcript. Please see the respective certificate website links listed below for the online Certificate Completion Form and contact information.
Graduate Certificate Coursework & Eligibility for Degree
Coursework may double-count toward a degree and another certificate as long as each certificate has a minimum of nine unique credit hours.
Graduate certificate program coursework completed while enrolled as an non-degree seeking student must be completed with a grade of B or better (B- is not acceptable), and must be completed within 7 years of first enrolling in graduate coursework, to be eligible for approval as graduate transfer credit into a graduate degree program at Florida State University. By University policy, graduate coursework completed with an earned grade of B- or lower, is not eligible for approval as transfer credit into a graduate degree program.
