The FSU Interdisciplinary Center for Athletic Coaching (FSU COACH) has recently signed agreements with the Florida Coaches Coalition and the Coaches’ Tool Chest. These agreements will enable FSU COACH and its respective partners to better prepare coaches of all sports to compete at their best.

The Florida Coaches Coalition focuses on high school coaches within the state and provides a voice on important topics, like representation and compensation. The organization was started by Dr. Andrew Ramjit, who was the Brevard Public Schools County Athletic Director. The Florida Coaches Coalition agreement with FSU COACH establishes a partnership for mutual promotion of both organizations. In addition, FSU COACH will offer coaching development material to the Florida Coaches Coalition, while Florida Coaches Coalition will advertise information about FSU COACH’s master’s and graduate certificates to its membership.

The Coaches’ Tool Chest offers coaches and athletic administrators training materials and resources to help them improve their performance through a web-based certification program. Topics include everything from first aid and CPR training to coaching fundamentals and mental health training. In its partnership with FSU COACH, the Coaches’ Tool Chest will name FSU COACH as a partner and help spread information about the center’s master’s and graduate certificate programs, while FSU COACH will also list the Coaches’ Tool Chest as an organizational partner.

“I am excited to work with both the Coaches’ Tool Chest and the Florida Coaches Coalition to mutually help one another with our mission to improve the experience of being a coach,” said Tim Baghurst, director of FSU COACH and professor at Florida State University Anne Spencer Daves College of Education, Health, and Human Sciences. “The Florida Coaches Coalition is doing important advocacy on behalf of coaches across the state and improving the future of coaching. The Coaches’ Tool Chest has an innovative approach to giving coaches and administrators what they need to excel. Both of these organizations are exciting partners, and I look forward to the mutual support we can provide one another.”
