Dr. Timothy Baghurst is a full professor at Florida State University and Founding Director of the FSU Center for Athletic Coaching, where he leads research initiatives, professional development, and partnerships with sport organizations. He has built multiple coaching programs from the ground up, including FSU's Graduate Certificate and Master's in Athletic Coaching and Oklahoma State University's Sports and Coaching Science programs, which combines curriculum design, applied coaching practice, research, and organizational leadership.
 
As a consultant, Dr. Baghurst helps schools, athletic departments, and governing bodies build coach education programs that are practical, evidence-informed, and grounded in the realities coaches face. His areas of expertise include:

He has worked with organizations including the NCAA, World Anti-Doping Agency, International Racquetball Federation, USA Basketball, USA Wrestling, the Milwaukee Bucks, the National Collegiate Equestrian Association, the American Volleyball Coaches Association, the National Wrestling Hall of Fame, Coaches' Tool Chest, and the Florida Coaches Coalition.

 

Dr. Baghurst has authored numerous books and over 150 peer-reviewed articles and professional publications on coaching, sport education, ethics, and athlete development. He is also an experienced keynote speaker and workshop facilitator, and a former international athlete and international/professional coach.
