Dr. Hailey Kuang is an Assistant Professor of Measurement and Statistics specializing in developing and applying psychometric and statistical methods to measure cognitive and psychological traits. Her methodological research advances the field of computational psychometrics by integrating machine learning techniques, with the goal of promoting the fair and valid use of test scores. Dr. Kuang’s research has been published in academic journals, such as Large-scale Assessments in Education, Computers & Education, and Structural Equation Modeling.

In addition to her methodological research, Dr. Kuang actively collaborates with scholars across various disciplines, including education, sociology, food science, nursing, and engineering. She provides methodological consultation for research grants and projects, covering research design, data collection, measurement instrument validation, and program evaluation.

At Florida State University, she teaches graduate-level courses, including Measurement Theory I, Item Response Theory, Machine Learning for Social Sciences, as well as Basic Descriptive and Inferential Statistics Applications.

Beyond her teaching and research, Dr. Kuang serves as Chair of the Division D (Measurement & Research Methodologies) International Committee for the American Educational Research Association (AERA) and Co-Chair of the Educators of Measurement (EoM) SIGIMIE for the National Council for Measurement in Education (NCME). She also serves on the editorial board of the American Educational Research Journal (AERJ).
