Great communities start with great schools. Great schools start with great teachers.

The teacher education programs at FSU will prepare you for a successful and rewarding career in the classroom and beyond and will help you make an impact both in your community and on the lives of your students for generations to come!

On Tuesday, February 22, 2022, we hosted our annual Teacher Education Preview Day to provide information about the teacher education programs at Florida State University, including our combined BS/MS pathways and our FSU-Teach program. These virtual events featured information about each program, admissions, scholarships and aid, and more. We also heard from the 2020, 2021, and 2022 Florida Teachers of the Year, who are all graduate students here in the College of Education!

Check out the recordings of our sessions below:

In our combined BS/MS pathways, you'll be able to earn both a bachelor's and a master's degree at the same time. You'll have hands-on experiences with students as early as your first semester in the program, letting you apply what you’re learning in real K-12 classrooms. The program will also provide you with a firm foundation in research-based teaching practices. You’ll graduate ready to teach on day one, better equipped than those who complete only a bachelor’s degree. You can choose from five different majors, including:

With our FSU-Teach program, you can pursue a double major in Biology, Chemistry, Environmental Science, Geoscience, Mathematics or Physics AND secondary teaching at the same time. No additional hours are required, and you can still graduate with your bachelor's degree in your content area in four years. That means you’ll have more career options after graduation — you’ll be able to go directly into teaching, a STEM profession, or graduate school.

Because all of our teacher preparation programs are state-approved, you’ll be eligible for the highest level of certification in Florida – the Professional Educator’s Certificate – as soon as you graduate. The professional certificate allows you to teach without worrying about meeting additional certification requirements during your first few years of teaching. Your completion of a state-approved program will also make you more marketable for teaching positions across the country. Principals know that hiring our graduates is a seamless process because they come prepared and fully certified.
