Weinan Zhao FSU alumnusWeinan Zhao published a new article in volume 141 of Computers & Education. The article is titled “Can playing a video game foster computational thinking skills?” and was written with Valerie Shute, Mack and Effie Campbell Tyner Endowed Professor of Education in the Educational Psychology and Learning Systems. The article, which can be found here, takes a quantitative look at how video games affect computational thinking and finds that “students’ computational thinking skills improved significantly.”

Lance Edward Tatum

Physical Education Ph.D. ’93

Lance Edward Tatum was promoted to Senior Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs at Troy University, located in Troy, Alabama. Tatum has served as interim senior vice chancellor but assumed the role formally after the previous senior vice chancellor retired on January 1 of this year. This accomplishment marks the latest in Tatum’s career, which has spanned more than two decades in higher education.
