The purpose of the Tech Sandbox is to create a dynamic learning environment where College of Education, Health, and Human Sciences students and faculty can learn and practice various instructional technologies and tools and get a clear understanding of how they can embed tech into teaching, learning, assessment, and research. We house technologies that are currently in use or will be used in PreK-12, continuing and higher education, and other educational organizations, allowing our students to meet rigorous accreditation requirements, state standards, and accomplished practices and preparing our graduates for successful professional careers.
Currently, the TechSandbox features technologies in the following categories:
- Coding applications
- Graphic Design
- Interactive display boards
- Small robotics
- Virtual reality
- 3D printing and design
- Active technologies
- Counseling technologies

All FSU students and faculty have access but need to self-enroll using the following steps:

We continuously expand and include other technologies and tools as recommended by students and faculty. We welcome your suggestions for new devices and apps. Please complete this survey, and we will make all efforts possible to acquire this item.
The Tech Sandbox is located in STB 3201, on the 3rd floor next to the elevator.

The Tech Sandbox currently offers a variety of educational workshops for the College of Education, Health and Human Sciences faculty, staff, and students. Our staff is trained in delivering technical expertise and knowledge regarding educational technology. For inquiries about workshops, please contact the Tech Sandbox at (850) 644-TECH.
Tech Sandbox staff members are happy to facilitate general tours, workshops, and training sessions for CEHHS faculty, staff, and students. To request tours and workshops, please use our online reservation system to check room availability, book the date and time you prefer, and provide us more details about your needs. Please note: Official tours and workshops should be booked at least two days prior to when you would like to come in.
To ensure that all users have a safe and productive learning experience while working in the Tech Sandbox, we ask that you please adhere to the following guidelines:
- Treat all equipment with care and respect
- Do not bring food or open containers of drinks into the room
- Report any malfunctioning equipment to a Tech Sandbox member
- Be mindful of other users and when possible, try to limit your use of a piece of equipment to one hour.
- Arrive on time for scheduled tours or workshops.
- Periodically review our Canvas site for updates and supplemental resources.
To support students, faculty, and staff, we maintain a Canvas organization site titled “The Technology Sandbox (CEHHS),” where we have curated various technology-related resources, including blogs and sites that both teachers and students may find useful.
