Dr. Elizabeth Jackson published two articles. The first article, titled "Using a Concept Map with RECALL to Increase the Comprehension of Science Texts for Children with Autism," was written with Dr. Mary Frances Hanline, professor in the School of Teacher Education, and appeared in the journal Focus on Autism and Other Developmental Disabilities. The second article, titled "Adapting Shared Reading Interventions for Young Learners with Autism Spectrum Disorder: RECALL," was published with Dr. Hanline and Dr. Kelly Whalon, associate professor of special education, and appeared in Young Exceptional Children.

Dr. Amirul Mukminin with his co-researchers was awarded a World Class Research Grant by the Ministry of Research, Technology, and Higher Education of the Republic of Indonesia to conduct a study on factors that support using the Internet to learn English in Indonesia. The grant awards roughly $80,000 for three years, starting 2021 and ending 2023. Mukminin is a professor in educational policy at Universitas Jambi, Indonesia.

A number of alumni and current students participated in the 2021 Aspire Summer Institute (ASI), sponsored by the National Science Foundation INCLUDES Aspire Alliance. Dr. Sophia Rahming (Higher Education Ph.D. '19) served as the ASI facilitator. The Summer Institute took place from June 7 until June 11 and taught the Inclusive Professional Framework for Faculty through the use of presentations, discussions, role-playing sessions and more. Throughout the time at the institute, participants considered topics like social and cultural identity, implicit bias, and more. In addition to Rahming, FSU participants also included Stephanie Burrs (Ph.D.), Kassie Ernst (FAMU-FSU College of Engineering Ph.D.), Julieth Diaz (Learning & Cognition Ph.D. candidate) and Dr. Ameya Kolarkar (Center for the Advancement of Teaching).

Dr. Dian Squire received the 2021-2022 College of Education Teacher of the Year from Northern Arizona University. Squire is an assistant professor and faculty program coordinator for NAU's Counseling-Student Affairs program. He has been a part of NAU's program since 2018. In the supporting documents for the award, Squire is described as playing a critical role in "unlearn, explore, engage, and re-learn what it means to be an educator, a student advocate, a social justice leader, and a member of a professional community."
