On Friday, May 3, ahead of Florida State University’s Spring 2024 commencement ceremonies, the College of Education, Health, and Human Sciences celebrated its master’s and doctoral graduates from the Higher Education program during the annual Dr. Melvene Draheim Hardee Hooding Ceremony.
CEHHS students shine with numerous university honors and awards
Standout students at the FSU College of Education, Health, and Human Sciences (CEHHS) garnered a plethora of university-wide honors and awards to cap off a successful Spring 2024 semester. A list of highlights is included below in the order in which they were received.
FSU College of Education, Health, and Human Sciences Ranked Best in Florida by U.S. News & World Report
The 2024 U.S. News & World Report Best Graduate School Rankings placed the FSU College of Education, Health, and Human Sciences as No. 6 among public colleges of education and No. 14 overall. The rankings give FSU the distinction as having the best college of education in the state of Florida—public or private.
Eleven FSU Graduates Named District Teachers of the Year
Each year, Florida’s school districts have the opportunity to recognize and celebrate 74 teachers as District Teachers of the Year. These top educators are selected for many reasons including extraordinary student gains, community involvement, teacher leadership and instructional practices. Of the District Teachers of the Year, five will be selected as finalists to win the Teacher of the Year Award.

Eight College of Education Students Among Newest McKnight Doctoral and Dissertation Fellows
This past November, eight College of Education graduate students were honored at the 37th McKnight Annual Fellows Meeting in Tampa for having received the McKnight Doctoral or Dissertation Fellowship.
The 2020-2021 and 2021-2022 cohorts attended alongside the recent graduates, who were honored during a jacketing ceremony.
